"Michigan's Fallen" Foot Float

May 26, 2008 will mark the 90th consecutive year that the City of
Ferndale has held a parade and ceremony paying tribute to those who
have paid the ultimate sacrifice in serving their country.
This Memorial Day Parade will not only be a historical event for
the City of Ferndale, it will also include a tribute to the men and
women who gave their lives serving Michigan’s military units in the
Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.
In honor of the men and women who have given their lives while
serving in Iraq or Afghanistan additional volunteers are needed to
carry individual placards and accompanying banners and flags.
Except for those currently in uniform serving the military all
other participants must wear plain red, white, or blue colored tops
(shirt, sweater, or jacket). WITHOUT EXCEPTIONS – NO POLITICAL
SLOGANS, BADGES, BUTTONS, STATEMENTS, OR PROMOTION OF ANY KIND, WILL
BE ALLOWED.
Additional information regarding time, place for gathering,
parking, etc. will be provided to volunteers at a later date.
