FERNDALE SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING

Monday, February 25, 2008

A Special Meeting of the Ferndale City Council was held Monday, February 25, 2008, at City Hall, 300 East Nine Mile Road, Ferndale. Mayor Covey called the meeting to order at 6:12 p.m.

ROLL CALL

Present: Mayor Covey, Council Members Baker, Galloway, Gumbleton, Lennon.

Absent: None.

CALL TO AUDIENCE

There were no members in the audience wishing to speak.

CLOSED SESSION – Performance Appraisal, City Clerk

078. Moved by Councilman Galloway, seconded by Councilman Lennon, to recess into Closed Session for the purpose of performance appraisal, pursuant to Section 8a of the Open Meetings Act, as requested by City Clerk Tallman, and to appoint Councilman Galloway as Recording Secretary.

AYES: Council Members Baker, Galloway, Gumbleton, Lennon, Mayor Covey

NAYS: None

MOTION CARRIED

Mayor Covey recessed the meeting into Closed Session at 6:18 p.m., and reconvened the Special Meeting at 6:50 p.m.

GOAL SETTING AND CONSIDERATION OF Contract and/or Wage Adjustments – City Clerk

079. Moved by Councilman Galloway, seconded by Councilwoman Gumbleton to place on the March 24, 2008 Council Meeting agenda consideration of wage adjustments and goal setting for the City Clerk.

AYES: Council Members Baker, Galloway, Gumbleton, Lennon, Mayor Covey

NAYS: None

MOTION CARRIED

CLOSED SESSION – Performance Appraisal, Fire Chief

080. Moved by Councilwoman Gumbleton, seconded by Councilman Galloway to recess into Closed Session for the purpose of performance appraisal, pursuant to Section 8a of the Open Meetings Act, as requested by Fire Chief Schmidt, and to appoint Councilman Galloway as Recording Secretary.

AYES: Council Members Baker, Galloway, Gumbleton, Lennon, Mayor Covey

NAYS: None

MOTION CARRIED

Mayor Covey recessed the meeting into Closed Session at 7:00 p.m., and reconvened the Special Meeting at 7:25 p.m.

GOAL SETTING AND CONSIDERATION OF Contract and/or Wage Adjustments – Fire Chief

081. Moved by Councilman Galloway, seconded by Councilman Lennon to place on the March 24, 2008 Council Meeting agenda consideration of wage adjustments and goal setting for the Fire Chief.

AYES: Council Members Baker, Galloway, Gumbleton, Lennon, Mayor Covey

NAYS: None

MOTION CARRIED

ADJOURNMENT

There being no objections, Mayor Covey adjourned the meeting at 7:26 p.m.
