The Clerk’s office is the frontline point of contact for the public.
City residents may contact the clerk's office for information,
directions, or referrals to another city department, so it is not
unusual for the city clerk's office to handle more than 1,000 calls per
month.
The City Clerk is responsible for the maintenance and distribution of
city government information, including official city records, licenses,
voter registration, elections, and meetings minutes for the City
Council, boards and commissions.
The City Clerk’s Office staff consists of

Tallman, Deputy Clerk
Marne McGrath and full-time clerical employee
Kerre O’Neil.
Please Note: As of July 1, 2009 the permit to conduct a garage
sale costs $5.00.

per event.
Residents should contact the City Clerk’s office regarding
information on the following:
- Licenses and Permits - Dog licenses, taxi cab plates, handbills,
vendors, fence permits, canvassing, solicitation, peddlers permits,
transient merchants. Many of our forms and permits are available
in the
Resources section of our website.
- Requests for Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) materials
- Minutes from the City Council, Civil Service Board, Board of
Zoning Appeals, Police and Fire Board, Employee Pension Board, and
Police and Fire Pension Board
- Copies of agendas, ordinances, charters, hearing notices,
advertisements
- Voter registration, request for absentee voter ballots, election
results
- Contracts, easements, agreements, commercial and industrial
facilities tax exemption certificates
- Petitions
- Maps - zoning and precinct.
- Requests for marriage dates and times for the Mayor to perform
ceremony
- Schedules of meeting dates and times, calendar of holidays.

Office hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
So You Want to be an Election Worker!
The Clerk’s office is always looking to satisfy the needs of city
residents and often there is someone who desires to work an election as
an inspector. If you are one of those individuals who would like to
participate on the local government level, please call or write to the
City Clerk to learn more about the election process and how you too can
participate. A copy of the application is made available to you in

City of Ferndale is seeking applications from interested residents
who desire to volunteer their time and energy by participating on one of
the many Boards, Committees and Commissions of the City. For an
