Sidewalk Permit Fee Schedule

FY 2008. Double fee for work started without a permit. Minimum
permit fee $30.
Note: for Sewer repairs requiring sidewalk replacement, see
Plumbing fee notes. Before a permit is issued, the following information is required
by the contractor:
- Signed, Sealed City of Ferndale Concrete Builders Bond for
$2,500 (Original) with a two year life span
- Signed, Sealed Power of Attorney attached to Bond Form
(Original)
- Certificate of Liability Insurance to City of Ferndale

| Sidewalk and Approach Permits |
| Prior to issuance of a permit
the contractor must determine the amount of sidewalk to
be replaced. Contractors must have prior approval
from the City Engineer to reconstruct flags deemed the
City's Responsibility. Property owners may secure
a sidewalk or apron permit if they have prior approval
from the City Engineer and execute a Homeowner's
Affidavit. |

| Bonds will be returned after
the City Engineer is satisfied with the repair. Returned
bonds may be reduced due to increased inspection fees,
additional required repairs, incorrect pavement type, or
if City barricades must be used. |

Cancellations or Refunds
Upon written request, prior to commencement of any work,
permits may be cancelled and refunded to the holder. The
permit fee less 50% or a minimum of $25, will be refunded. The
balance will be retained by the City of Ferndale to defray administrative costs.
In cases where work has commenced and a request is received to
transfer a permit to another contractor, a minimum fee of $25 shall
be charged for the transfer to defray administrative costs.
Additional fee amounts will be determined by actual documented
administrative costs.
