Overview

The City of Ferndale offers a wide range of municipal services to Ferndale residents and business owners.  Highlights of its operations include:

• a Police department comprised of highly trained, dedicated specialists who are committed to excellence in law enforcement,

• a paid, professionally staffed Fire department operated out of two strategically located fire stations,

• a Public Works department overseeing sanitation collection and disposal; streets, parks, grounds, and equipment maintenance; water distribution and sewage disposal, and fleet management,

• a Public Library, located in the heart of the City, with a collection exceeding 98,000 items including books, magazines, videos, audio books, and music CDs ranging from contemporary to classic.

• a Recreation and Senior Services department offering a wide range of activities and special events for all ages and abilities.

• a Cable station - offering coverage of City Council meetings and other City business for viewers to watch from the comfort of their home, and an on-staff liaison for consumers to contact about their cable service.
