22nd Annual Ferndale Foot Frolic

Runners are invited to race with us on Sunday, May 18, 2008.  Proceeds benefit Ferndale Recreation Youth Programs and Summer Camps.  Enjoy competition, fun, and camaraderie along a fast, flat, tree-lined street course! The race starts and ends at the Gerry Kulick Community Center, 1201 Livernois, 1 light south of 9 Mile Road at the corner of Pearson. Free parking is available at the Center and on surrounding streets (parking restrictions will be lifted during event). Event day registration opens at 8:30am on May 18. Race reserves the right to reject any entry. No refunds or transfers will be made. This is a ChampionChip® race – failure to return your chip at the end of the event will result in a $30 charge.

Entry Fee

1. Register Online
2. $35 per person, non-refundable.
3. $5 Early bird discount through 5/1/08.
4. $10 per person online registration discount through 4:00pm on 5/10/08.
5. Fee allows entry in one or both races.
6. The official race T-shirt is guaranteed for runners registered by 8:00pm on May 10.
7. Those who register after May 10 will receive a T-shirt on a first come basis, if available.
8. Race day registration fee is $35 and T-shirt if available.

Confirmation

Participants may pick up their race packet at the registration table after 8:30am on race day.

Race day registration ($35) and packet pick up will be inside the Kulick Center beginning at 8:30am.

Safety

The Ferndale Police and Auxiliary Police will assist in traffic control. Our goal is to provide a safe course. Baby strollers will be allowed in both races.

Weather

Temperatures are generally in the mid 50s at 9:00am, climbing moderately to mid 60s to low 70s by 11:00am. Temperatures have varied widely. Races run rain or shine.

9:00am – One Mile Fun Run 9:30 AM – 10K Run

Refreshments

Water is available at the start/finish line and on the course, plus finish line refreshments for all runners.

Award Ceremony Following Race

1 Mile Fun Run - Trophy for first male and female overall finishers; medals for 2nd – 3rd place for men and women. Medals to all participants 12 and under. 10K Race - Trophy for first male and female overall finisher. Trophy to first finisher in each division, plus medals awarded to 2nd—3rd place for men and women.
